On the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister Ben Weyts

Following advice from the Council of State, the Flemish Government is amending its decision setting out the recognition conditions for animal establishments and the conditions for the trade in animals, also known as the Kennel Decree. There will be an annual indexation of the fee for the costs of processing accreditation applications; animal shelters may, for medical or biosecurity reasons, deviate from the minimum standards in Annex II where this is necessary for the health or safety of the animals, and the mandatory vaccination against feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) for cats in shelters is abolished.
