Felis Belgica has requested to add the Lykoi as one of the breeds, listed in CAT ID, so that owners can register their cat as Lykoi, when they have their cats chipped at the vet.
Felis Belgica is cooperating to get the breed recognised in FIFe (Fédération Internationale Féline).

The Lykoi (wolf cat), is characterised by a natural mutation of the coat, which originated within the (street) cat population. The lykoi has a unique colour pattern (roan), which makes a black cat look like a mixture of black and white. The more white hairs the cat has, the more it looks like silver. Moreover, the Lykoi also has a number of very sparsely coated areas to almost bald spots. For example, they have no coat around the eyes, chin, nose, mouth and the back of the ears. This gives them the look of a "werewolf".

This is a new, but very healthy breed, which is currently being tested for all possible hereditary problems.
